Review
"Too often our culture confuses love with moral relativism, and it is a dangerous misunderstanding. In this much-needed book, Dr. Edward Sri shows us that true compassion can never be separated from moral realities." --Jennifer Fulwiler, author, Something other than God"Pope Emeritus Benedict often spoke of the "dictatorship of relativism," and Pope Francis called relativism 'the spiritual poverty of our time.' Edward Sri heeds the clarion call to action and offers practical tools to talk about moral truth with greater conviction, clarity, and compassion in a world saturated by relativism." --Curtis Martin, founder, FOCUS

Immediately after beginning this book I found myself in a conversation where I was able to use the information presented here. I am a cradle Catholic and in this crazy politically correct world needed this eye opener.
This book is definitely worth reading. While children may inherently know that virtue is gives them the freedom to love our lives often distort this instinctive knowledge. Consequently a book like this that teaches the classic model of virtue brings freedom to love is always timely. As Sri says, every action leads to who we are becoming. The virtues of patience, humility, self-control, generosity, discipline, and perseverance are highlighted. Ideas like we find our happiness in our relationships are always helpful. This is a God centered book.
I have struggled with the question asked in the title of this book. How do I respond to relatives, friends and co-workers who deny the existence of moral truth and accuse anyone who does believe in moral absolutes as judgmental (in a bad way)? Dr. Sri has written a practical, thoughtful guide for this very common issue that comes up in so many contexts. Lead with mercy!
This book is written for people who want to better understand why certain moral issues of today are wrong. In addition to explaining a classical and Christian point of view for healthy living, this book also gives reasons To help those you love see destructive behaviors for what they are. This book is easy to read while being both timely and profound.
Superb!I couldn't put it down. I cannot imagine a more timely book! I want to buy copies for friends and family!
I would recommend this book especially to teenagers, young adults, and those on the way back to the Church.I will definitely read more books authored byMr. Sri.
If you are not a philosopher or if you are a high school student you will find excellent ideas in this book that you will understand easily. Not only is it written in language that we can all understand, it explains the downsides of relativism in terms of its being a barrier to friendship - an interesting way to look at it.I highly recommend this book!
This is one of the few books that I just wanted to keep reading and never put down. I am going to buy several copies to giveaway and am going to talk our study group at church into reading this book and using it for discussion. Questions at end of each chapter are great thought question.
