First off, I would like to say this is a perfect book for me. I have no experience in options. I do buy and trade on share builder but want to try out options. I do know that it is very risky but when it hits then it can hit big time.I am reviewing Options Trading: Quick Start Guide - The Simplified Beginner's Guide to Options Trading (Options Trading, Trading Options, Options Trading for Beginners) the Kindle Edition.This is a great eBook. I learned a lot from it.The contents are very lengthy and over 1300 of pages. This is not a quick read, what this is, is an extensive lesson in options trading.I have not finished it, but the 300 or so pages I have read are very informative, give me the information I need and I am starting to feel like I can hop in the market now.I would look for information on the computer before this and because there is so much information I would get information overload and give up.This book puts it in A to Z format and leaves nothing to chance.The book goes from Options basics to Strategies. It also comes with a free gift and vip membership which makes it really nice.Like I have stated before and I want people to listen, option trading is not for the faint at heart, you can even lose more money than you put in on some of them if I am reading right. If you have some extra money and the time to research, then this is for you. I am thinking oil has to go up soon and is why I want to pursue this. The when oil goes up produce the like will go up to pay for the gas bills, although they do not take the price down when oil drops lol. We can not win, but with Options I may have a chance to get ahead of the game and win. The stock market is too slow for me.I have been given a reduced rate or the item free in exchange for my honest review. Please look over my reviews and you will see I do not always favor a product. It's not bad at all if you're just getting started into options. Its an easy read under 1.5 hours. Most of the info here can be found easily online but, I like to have the book near me when trading sometimes to reference some basic fundamentals to options. I would say this is worth your money if you're just wanting to get your feet wet and understand the basics to options. The visualizations on some of the trades could be done better. There are other books out there that contain all the info here and much more but, this is more of a quick summary on options. No advanced strategies are mentioned in the book.

The information in this book is well written and informative, but the charts are absolutely illegible. Options trading without chart views? Not a good plan.

I have read through this book and the thought that kept occurring to me was "how do I know what they are writing here is correct..." The reason for the thought is there are so many misspellings and other errors it is hard to believe what they are writing about...what is really most concerning is the fact that this book is the 2nd edition! The editors either didn't read the book or they were drunk when editing...

I doubt a beginner will be able to trade options just from reading this book, The book uses just as much jargon as any other book, the fact that the book is short gives them very little time to explain anything well,

A ton of information for beginner's and seasoned investors. This book explains options in a way that is easy to understand even for investors with no knowledge of options. I will use this book as a reference in the future.

Very basic book. I was a series 7 stockbroker for 21 years. The book reminded me of things I already knew but was not properly applying. It is a worth while primmer. A book that cost about $5 and has anything worth knowing about trading is stocks is a must.

The book is great but they ran out of INK when it came to printing their (so called) multiple colored charts (can even read them). I'd like a new book with readable charts (why so long writing---been busy).

This is my third solo book--and beyond doubt the most difficult to write. The key dilemma I've faced throughout was respecting the first word of the title: "advanced". Some reader is bound to notice the use of some particular technique and exclaim "oh no, he didn't use a timewarp pointer--how can he call this advanced!". Well, although an expert in the book's subject area it is possible that I really don't know about timewarp pointers. However, it is more likely that I deliberately chose not to use them. My aim is to always show the clearest, simplest, most maintainable code possible, and to always prefer solid Qt best practices over fragile exotica. (For example, in the entire book there is only one use of a member function pointer.) Nonetheless, I think this book will take readers beyond what most other Qt books cover, and I'm confident that many readers will find much to challenge and interest them--as well as lots of practical code and ideas that they can make direct use of in their own Qt programming. An excellent overview of some of the advanced features of QT, such as displaying web pages, playing multimedia, and multi-threaded programming. I've been using QT professionally for a couple of years now, but I still learnt a great deal from this book.The writing style is friendly and informal, and all the explanatory text is easy to understand.All of the example programs worked perfectly, with one minor exception: the 'weather tray icon' app did not display properly -- perhaps because I was running Ubuntu 12.04, whereas the app had been tested on Fedora. (I could not, in good conscience, deduct a star from this book's rating because of that: making apps that work on every variant of Linux is an impossible task :) ).

Didn't quite give me all the info I wanted re interface presentation. But pretty good all the same.

Very clear with good examples. It is best if the user has a good grasp of C++ prior to reading this book.

Excellent choice for that 'extra' understanding of Qt.

This book focus on what is essential and important using QT.For example the model view architecture using desktop widget but also graphical widget,state machine animation framework are very well explain and precise.The code provided simply work.I think reader of this book can really save some time during the learning process.It s also a book that you can read close to your qt creator open to experiment each notion explained by Mark.

It's truly an amazing book for deep learning many aspects that are useful but in someway, sometimes 'hidden' inside Qt.This book is the path to glory, for those who, like me, love those features that turn a programming language in a delightful day at the park...

For those who have done C++ GUI programming by Jasmin Blanchette and Mark Summerfield this book will be a nice follow-up. It has the same down-to-earth style and covers topics that were not covered in the former book. Personally, I found very useful QTextDocument examples and topics on concurrency.

I have followed this very interesting case since it happened on 12/09/2001. Kathleen Peterson, wife of novelist Michael Peterson, was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in their North Carolina home. Michael Peterson claimed it must have been an accident but blood splatter evidence, along with blood on Michael's clothing, suggested it was murder. Michael Peterson was convicted of first-degree and sentenced to life in prison. Due to perjury of one of the witnesses during the trial, Peterson was released. In his new trial, they tried to blame her death on being attacked by an owl. There was a lot of information about this fascinating case brought out in this book by Author RJ Parker that I was not aware of. I enjoyed this book very much and I highly recommend it.

Or is a case of a brutal homicide??You might already be somewhat familiar with this case, if you have watched the documentary on Netflix, but I felt this book gave some other points of interest that were left out in the documentary!Author RJ Parker tells the story in an easy to understand way and gives an unbiased view to the story. It also gives a more detailed look into all of the people involved in this True Crime mystery! I would definitely recommend this book.

The pictures speak loudly, but the evidence is confusing.When Kathleen Peterson was found dead at the foot of the stairs, Michael Peterson told police that she had fallen down the stairs. However, the position of her body was suspicious and there was too much blood. The wounds on her head were not consistent with a tumble down the stairs.Then a theory arose which had Kathleen being attacked by an angry owl. I am not privy to the thought processes of owls, but any self-respecting owl would surely realize that Kathleen was more than he could carry off.The trial(s) were less than enlightening. The prosecution focused on a prior similar staircase death, Michael's sex life, insurance money, and other motives but could not identify the murder weapon, if there was one.The bonus story, Abducted: The Minivan Murders, covers the crimes of James Daveggio and Michele Michaud. The story is quite graphic. Read it if you dare.

Kathleen Peterson was found dead on the staircase of her Durham mansion. Six moths after her death her husband Michael Peterson claims her 401K pension and savings plan of $347,000. There is also the life insurance of $1.4 million. There was a theory that Kathleen's fall could have been from an owl who attacked her and while she attempted to protect herself she fell and hit her head on the treads of the steps. When Kathleen was found she had a sliver from a tree and an owl feather in her hand. Was it an Owl or her Husband Michael Peterson?

Doesn't go into the trial much. In fact, you know the outcome at the beginning so there's really no reason to read the book if that's all you want to know.Most true crime aficionados are into it for the psychology behind the crime, and it doesn't go into that much either. A chapter heading claims to, but really doesn't...just repeats what was already said about their common childhoods earlier in the book.Book really needs the X-Ray feature, as there are a lot of characters to keep track of.I'd only read if you can get it free. Too repetitive. One of the other books written about this couple is much better.

Great supplementary book to the Diane Fanning and Aphrodite Jones books on the Michael Peterson/Kathleen Peterson case of 12/9/2001 Durham, NC. I got a kick out of the ending when the author discussed "other theories" RE: the murder (because let's face it...one either sees Michael Peterson as the killer (with only circumstantial evidence, some of it paired with a rather flimsy motive) or NOT as the killer...but what a nightmare to go through, if not!) and stated that some see the surname PETERSON as cursed. LOL, maybe...we have Michael Peterson 12/9/2001-Durham, NC, Scott Peterson 12/24/2002-Modesto, CA and Drew Peterson 2/29/2004 & 10/28/2007-Bolingbrook, IL..with a murdered ex-wife with the same name as Michael's slaughtered wife (Kathleen Peterson) and his STILL missing 4th wife Stacy Peterson (gone almost 11 years now...). Funny how no one lumped these 3 Peterson family murders together in the early 2000's...so much in common...so much not seen...

It doesn't even appear much, if any, research was done for this book. Those that have seen The Staircase documentary know Michael has more than one sibling. It is laid out poorly, leading to repetition and lacks detail. It is in dire need of editing, just to clean up inconsistencies and poor sentence structure. I couldn't get through the whole book.

This a great book!! I found it more interesting then the series that's on Netflix. Short read and a bonus book is included. Can't wait till the next one from RJ
